MacPorts versus fink - I asked myself the question recently again. Many years ago I switched to MacPorts and then back to fink when the number of packages that didn’t compile grew over my patience threshold. Nowadays I am still happy with fink but was wondering if the mojo was not back with MacPorts. I guess not:
Fink has 11043 packages - 1096 of which are unmaintained.
MacPorts has 5960 packages - of which a stunning 2358 are unmaintained.
I will stay with fink. For now …
